“You Are So Much More”
We are really good at selling ourselves short. So many feel inadequate, not smart enough, unattractive, not good enough, too short, too tall, to thick, too skinny and have a lousy personality. Do I need to go on or do you have the picture? The thing is, most people do not look at others with those thoughts in mind which means WE are our own worst enemy!
Are you an individual that consistently beats yourself up? Here’s a reminder of what the Bible has to say about YOU (and me). “For we (you) are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10). It’s important to know who you are. The verse tells us we’re God’s workmanship which comes from a Greek word meaning, “masterpiece.” Did you get that? You are a “masterpiece” created by God Himself. You are a designer’s model. There is no one like you and Jeremiah said, “Before you were formed in the womb of your mother, the Lord knew you” (1:5). Similar verses are found in the Psalms, Ecclesiastes, Isaiah and other places regarding how God created you.
The point of all this is to say YOU are significant! You are worthy! You are valuable! You have purpose, meaning and a life worth living! You are a “masterpiece” and you are here for a reason. God has a plan for your life (Jeremiah 29:11) and He makes no mistakes. Don’t sell yourself short. You were created for good works. We are not saved by these works; we are saved by grace through faith. But, God has saved us for a purpose – to serve Him and make Him known by our good works done in His name. So get on your feet and start moving “masterpiece,” God wants to use you today to “Make a Difference” in someone’s life. “YOU ARE SO MUCH MORE” than you credit yourself for. There are people around that “Only You” can reach. YOU were created “For such a time as this!” YOU are God’s “masterpiece”!
