The Memorial Service for Gene Huff will be held Saturday (tomorrow) at the Marietta First Church of the Nazarene 4341 Dallas Hwy; Marietta at 12:00 Noon.  Visitation with the family will begin at 11:00am.  Anyone interested in helping with the luncheon that follows the service should contact Janice Pelfrey at jkpel64@gmail.com asap.  Her phone number is 256-490-8807.

ALL LADIES are invited to attend the free Mother/Daughter breakfast Sunday morning at 9:30am.  It will be held in the Main Church building.  I know it’s impossible for some to celebrate Mother’s Day with your mother or daughter.  Invite a friend or even someone in the Church to be your adopted daughter or mother for a morning.  Enjoy the breakfast and sit together during the 10:45am Worship Service.  It will be good for you and you’ll make a memorable morning for someone else because you cared.

A combined Men’s Sunday School Class will meet in the Children’s Ministry Center with Jose Moreno teaching.  Starts at 9:30, but come early.  There is NO Sunday evening service this week.

It’s good to be home and I’m personally looking forward to spending the morning with all of you.  Truth be known though, Mother’s Day is not my easiest Sunday simply because I can’t contact my Mom.  This puts me in the same boat with many others so I do know what you are going through.   But, we can and will celebrate our Mother’s and never forget the impact they continue to make on our lives.  My message will be looking at the examples left for us by perhaps the most Godly woman ever.  See you Sunday.  We’re going to have a GREAT MORNING!!

Tickets for the Scott Davis Comedy night can also be purchased this Sunday for the May 18 event.  They are $10 advance, $15 at the door so contact your friends and family and see how many you should pick up.  Maybe there is a non-churched friend you’ve been trying to get to come to church.  Consider buying them a ticket and bring them as your special guest.  Everyone likes to laugh and if they don’t they need too.
