“Need A Makeover?”
Have you ever wondered what you might look like if you had an external makeover? Perhaps some of you have had one, but if not, I think it fascinating to think about what the change might produce and how others would respond to it. Many of you reading these lines have already had a makeover, but maybe you didn’t realize what it was. It was internal not external. And this is a makeover everyone needs!
The makeover I’m referring to is the makeover of our hearts. As followers of Christ we put to death our sinful thoughts and attitudes. The grudges and prejudices that were held onto for years are finally released. Anger which raised its ugly head from time to time begins to fade away and is eventually conquered. Lack of gratitude is exchanged for thankfulness. A life that was once filled with doubt and frustration is changed to a life of faith and hope. Sadness becomes a joy that can’t even be explained and a peace flows through our heart.
Have you experienced this type makeover? It takes place when one asks the Lord Jesus to forgive them of all their sins and come into their heart. If you do your part, which is repenting of all sin (meaning, I not only want forgiveness, I don’t want to live this way anymore), God will do His part. What will this makeover look like? Ezekiel said, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh” (36:26). When this “internal” makeover is complete, not only will you notice a difference, so will everyone you know. It’s a “New You!” This makeover will last for eternity!!
