“God’s Directions Are Best”

God is a strategic God.  He has the people you need all laid out to help you reach your destiny.  Our Lord isn’t vague.  He has our lives designed to the smallest details.  The Psalmist said, “The Lord directs the steps of the godly.  He delights in every detail of their lives” (37:23 NLT).  God directs those who love, follow and obey Him.  This of course also involves trust.  I believe He guides our steps to the very second.  Think back in your life.  Had you been five seconds earlier a disaster might have happened, five seconds later a great opportunity would have been missed.  Sometimes we are in the right place at the right time and overhear a stranger say something providing information that changes the course of our life.

There are 7.5 billion people on planet earth, yet God can bring you the one person you need.  This might be a marriage partner, tip leading to a career, lifelong friend, or a specialist of some kind to help you get well.  The point is, you are not a mistake in God’s eyes.  He has a plan and purpose for your life.  Your parents may have brought you into the world and God chose who they would be.  He also brought you here with a plan, purpose and destiny.  He isn’t a random God.  He loves you with an everlasting love and His faithfulness endures forever so says the scriptures.  The words of an old song say, “And, He walks with me and He talks with me; and He tells me that I am His own…”.  God is not only walking with you today, He is guiding your very next step.

To be clear, walking with God requires faith.  True faith is trusting God when we don’t understand.  Having confidence when our next step is shaky or fearful.  If we aren’t careful Satan will confuse us.  We’ll wonder, “If God is directing me, why did my business fail?”  There’s lots of questions that pop through our mind as we travel this spiritual path.  God doesn’t always do what makes sense or what seems logical.  Why did a relationship break up, why did my health fail?  But, we must also realize the good things that come our way aren’t by accident.   His paths for us are rarely straight.  These roads are filled with lots of curves, hills (sometimes mountains to scale) and very deep valleys.  BUT in the end, there is always something good.  It’s walking by faith we learn God is ALWAYS in control even when we think He isn’t.  There is always an “Afterwards” with Him.  Put your shoes on – He has an exciting day planned for you.  Keep your hand in His.  He’ll take you places and have you meet people and do things you never imagined!
