“God Or No God?”
The Bible says, “God spoke and the world (universe) came into existence.” Someone might ask, “What if I don’t believe in God?” A simple answer from a Christian might be, “It doesn’t matter whether you believe in God or not, He still exists.” There’s a great argument going on around the world today – some believing God is real, others saying no, there is no God.
This might be a question to consider, “On whose (or what) authority is a person convinced God doesn’t exist?” Christians base their belief on the Holy Scriptures. It’s said the phrase, “Thus saith the Lord” is mentioned over 400 times in the Old Testament (KJV). That’s a lot of quotes the Lord has made for the Bible to be false. The truth of the matter is, what you believe is your choice. The Book of Genesis gives the account of creation and the human race. I personally believe the Bible is true, but also believe God forces no one to believe it. Nor does He force anyone to love and serve Him. We are free moral agents meaning we choose what we want or don’t want to believe.
In my opinion, most children in America have a simple belief in God. In our hearts we all have a conscience that makes us aware of right and wrong and makes us sense a God to whom one day we must give an account. Proof of God’s existence is shouting from every direction and all we have to do is objectively open our eyes and ears. Psalm 19:1b says, “…the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” It’s seems an individual has to be trained to reject the evidence of God’s existence or explain it another way. Our belief system boils down to one thing – FAITH – do you believe God is who He says He is and does what He says He will do? If it isn’t God you are serving, who or what is it? Are you confident and at peace with the “Whom” or “what” you are serving? (Tomorrow – a presence of God within every person).
