“Faith & Hope”

Our world is in a situation today none of us saw coming.  Who would have thought an invisible virus would make so many people sick, claim so many lives and shut people up in their homes?  We continue to pray for our scientists, doctors, paramedics, nurses and others that are working so hard to find solutions to this disease and caring for the ill.  Americans, as well as others around the world, find themselves in a powerless situation.  How long will this pandemic last?  What if I or a loved one become ill?  When can I go back to work?  How will I pay my bills?  Many are discouraged and afraid.  Let me encourage you today by saying there are things this pandemic cannot take away from you.  The two most import things are the things God loves and provides to each individual – FAITH and HOPE!

Hebrews 11:1 tells us, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”  We don’t have an answer for what’s going on today, but God does.  We don’t know how or when this all will come to an end, but God does.  We are praying for the brightest minds in the world to come up with a solution to the Coronavirus – COVID 19.  God has the answer!  There are things that happen in life we will never understand and this is one of them, but our FAITH assures us God has everything under control.  Don’t let Satan get into your head or work on your emotions.  “Faith PLEASES God” (Heb. 11:6).  God wants us to trust Him completely.  Not only during good times, but during trying times as well.  Those days when we feel so weak, frustrated and ready to give up.  Those times when all we do is have FAITH and HOPE.

Faith is: Holding On Praying Every day!  Hope is: more than wishing something will happen.  In biblical terms it means believing, expecting, anticipating something will happen.  It’s taking God at His word.  It’s a confidence He can do anything at any time.  We must remember, He rolled the waters back and led several million people to the other side.  He took five loaves and two fish and fed a multitude.  He spoke and calmed a raging storm.  He gave you life, family and friends.  He gave His only Son to die for your sins.  God has an investment in you.  He has promised to never leave nor forsake you.  He will give you the power to “Resist the devil and he will flee from you” (James 4:7).  So during these difficult days, continue to draw strength and wisdom from God’s Word and trust what He says.  Our maturity is not acting on our feelings or emotions, but our commitment.  My faith, hope and commitment helps me not to be afraid.  God not only is walking with us, but He is leading us through this storm.  Soon we’ll see the rainbow indicating the storm is over.  You aren’t powerless – God has given you Faith and Hope!
