“Explanation of God – AMAZING”:

Define God in one word.  Wouldn’t that be a fun group discussion?  Try it with a family gathering or small group Bible study.  For some personal study, Google Bible verses using word ‘Amazed/Amazing.”  You’ll find lots.  The word “amaze” used in past or present tense has always caused a pause when I’m reading scripture.  It’s a word that tells me to back up and read the verse again.  Who is this talking about or what just happened?  As I recall, in every situation it was God who had just done something and an individual or group of people were amazed.  The Bible is the Book of God.  It tells us who He is, what He has done and what He is doing today.  This Book tells us how we can know Him and develop a personal relationship with His Son Jesus Christ.  It tells us how to live, what to do and not do.  The Lord is a light unto our path providing direction on where to go and not go.  The Book is AMAZING!  God is AMAZING!  His love, grace, mercy, and power are AMAZING!!

Here’s a question for you?  What AMAZING thing has God done in your life?  Some may be tempted to say, “I don’t know,” or “Nothing lately.”  Let me ask, “Are you a Christian?”  Have you truly repented of your sins and asked Jesus to come into your heart?  If so, rejoice and shout to the sky, “GOD YOU ARE AMAZING!!”  Your salvation is the greatest thing that has or ever will happen to you.  The decision to accept Christ as Savior is the most important decision you’ll ever make as that one choice determines where you will be 10, 20, 100, a million years from now!  We all have sinned, but God is ready, willing, and able to forgive us of all our sins and clean up our lives from the inside out.  Really – is there anything more AMAZING than that?  Whoever you are, whatever you are going through, there is someone in the Bible that’s experienced the same thing and God met their need.  The God we serve is “The same, yesterday, today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).

When I woke up this morning my thoughts immediately turned to the Lord.  This Sunday morning ends my ministry as a Sr. Pastor.  I must admit, thinking about it has given me thoughts and feelings like never before experienced.  I began thinking of how God called me to preach – AMAZING!  How I met my wife of almost 52 years – AMAZING!  How God has allowed us to see hundreds of people come to Christ and witness physical, mental, and emotional healings to take place – AMAZING!  We’ve seen what was believed impossible relationships restored – AMAZING!  I’m one hundred percent convinced that GOD CAN DO ANYTHING!!  Of course, the Bible tells us that, and I believe the Bible.  I could go on and on about the presence and power of the Lord.  Thanks for reading this today, and I apologize for rambling, but please know GOD HAS DONE some “AMAZING” things in your life whether you know it or not.  And if you are under the load of discouragement, depression, loneliness, or despair, don’t give up.  Put your eyes on Him and believe because another “AMAZING” work of God is on the way.  “With Him, ALL things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).
